Steven Curtis on his song "Patience"

New release as of 2022

We love to discover new music and are so happy we stumbled across this gem. We asked Steven Curtis a few short questions about his song "Patience". Here's what he had to say about it..

What inspired this song?

"This song was inspired after going through a broken heart and comparing myself towards others. I saw a lot of my friends growing up and getting houses/families while I was still struggling getting my career started for my music. I always was told "Comparison is the thief of joy" which is so true. I wrote this in a sense to try and calm myself down telling myself that things will all come together and make sense, as long as I learned how to be patient. I then kind of kept it on the shelf for a few years until I played it at a show last November. Ironically after the show everyone I talked to kept asking me about this song specifically. That's when I realized there might be something special to this song"...

What do you hope the listener takes away from the song?

"I just want people to feel not so alone with this song. I wrote it feeling like I was the only one going through something at the time to realize everyone has their own battles and struggles. Mine is a little more personal in the verses, but it may help someone feel in the chorus that their struggles are valid whatever they may be."..

What can we expect next from you?

"Next I'm going to have a little more upbeat of tunes! I'm experimenting genres because I just love all types of music. I'm really excited for my next few projects because I feel it's hard to predict what I will release next!"
