Christian Clothing Brand out of Van Nuys, CA
We love to discover new kingdom creatives and are so happy we had a chance to interview this brand. We asked Owner-Alfredo a few short questions about Never Us Co. and what to expect next. Here's what he had to say..
Please tell us about your art. What do you do / make / create? How? Why? What’s the message or inspiration, what do you hope people take away from it? What should we know about your artwork/modeling?
"I use a minimalistic approach to our garments. We like to use simple phrases or words. every shirt, hoodie, beanie or crew-neck is a canvas. Each holds the opportunity to make an impression on someone that may not believe. Sometimes by reading a message on a Tee I myself get a faith refresher or a reminder that God is here with me. Our style and image blend well with the times now. We use quality products because, we want our products to stay with you long term. We are in a commitment with you.."..
How or where can people see your work? How can people support your work?
"We are an online based company and we sometimes vendor at Christian Concerts. People can support by sharing and following us on social media. We are on Instagram and Twitter mainly."..

"Success is when people ask, "what does the phrase in your shirt mean?" or when they say "amen." Our purpose is to spread Christ awareness through our clothing. I feel like quality and honesty are essential to our brand"..
What's your favorite opportunity/project you've been apart of?
"Growing with Christ in a business relationship is the greatest opportunity that I have been given. In our world today I feel like people favor money, people and things over God. It is critical to keep my focus on the promises of God and not the propaganda of the world.."..
What jobs have you done other than owning your brand?
"I started working through temp agencies when I got out of jail and I started working anywhere and everywhere. I went back to school earned a degree and Im starting a career in business management. I hope to one day just dedicated my time to Never Us and Serving Christ."..

Every brand has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
"My name is Alfredo Garcia. I was born in Orange County but I was raised in the city of Van Nuys. I come from a Catholic upbringing but, I eventually gave my life to Christ. My family background is Mexican and they immigrated to California for a better life. Growing up I was always around alcohol. My father and grandfather were alcoholics and I was a victim of the disease of alcoholism. Eventually my father left me and my siblings with my mom and she was left to raise us alone. We moved in to my grandparents apartment and I began to rebel. I started going to parties in high school and I started to drink alcohol. I began trying to find myself. For a moment I started to design clothing and I developed a passion for it but, then I got discouraged and I stopped. Once I got tired of that scene and I continued to progress in my disease I eventually started using drugs and began to follow my uncle. He was in a gang and that environment was attractive to me. I slowly started trying to fit in. I started hanging with the kids on my block and we all started using together. Eventually it all got out of control and once I graduated high school I was already an alcoholic drug addict. I started going to college but eventually dropped out and I went on to the streets. Eventually the streets and drug use led to my incarceration. From 2012 to 2015 I kept going in and out of LA County Jail. During my incarceration I began to attend church and AA meetings. I started reading the New Testament and I quickly started to seek God more. I remember being in solitary confinement and the only book I was able to keep with me was the Bible. During my times of desperation I would pray to God and I started feeling hope. Once I got out of jail I stopped seeking God but I continued to stay clean and sober. Eventually I started going to Alcoholics Anonymous and I found God again. I was invited to a church service by a member of AA and I accepted. The first time I ever went to a service outside of Jail and I got baptized that same day. From 2017 until 2022 my relationship with Jesus has matured so much. He has given me a life I could of never imagined. In 2020 I came up with an idea to begin a Christian clothing brand. Never Us is a reminder of when I used to think that I was never worthy of being chosen or used by God. Never Us is also a reminder that we can't rely on Us for salvation, only through Christ. Never Us aims to spread the gospel through streetwear. God will do for you what you can't do for yourself."..
