youngstone breaks down his artistry and what's next to come..
We love to discover new christian creatives and are so happy we had a chance to interview this artist. We asked youngstone a few short questions about his artistry and what to expect next. Here's what he had to say..
Every artist has a unique story. Can you tell us a little about yours?
"I went from being able to freestyle for however long about worldly things to being able to use the gift of rapping that God gave me for His glory."..
Please tell us about your art. What do you do / make / create? How? Why? What’s the message or inspiration, what do you hope people take away from it?
"I make music for Christ. My music is mainly Bay Area style, but I can fit into most genres. I make music to speak the word of God into people's lives. To be the light in the world we live in. I hope people can have softened hearts towards Jesus and that the music I make will lead others to Christ.."..
How or where can people see your work? How can people support your work?
"All of my work is on any streaming platform and my content is on YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok. The best way to support me is by coming to an event I'm doing or streaming my music."..
When and why did you start playing/making music?
"I started making music on my iPad at 14 years old and it evolved into me creating music on a laptop at 17 years old. At first was just for fun because I enjoyed making beats, but I started rapping on the beats I made, then started releasing music at the beginning of 2023.."..
Tell us a little about your faith journey and how you came to give your life to Jesus?
"I grew up in a Christian household with Christian values. Personally, I wasn't interested in a relationship with God or church, but during Covid is when everything changed. I pull up an inspirational video and the guy starts talking about the Gospel. In that moment, I was 14 and gave my life to Christ. I fell away for 3 years after that, then in October of 2022 I rededicated my life to Christ and been living my life for Him since."..
What jobs have you done other than being an artist?
"I'm a full time student almost done to get my associates degree in welding. I also am a youth leader at my church and my church's photographer."..
How do you balance your music with other obligations - significant other, children, job etc? Are you full time music?
"Balancing my music is difficult in some of the seasons of life I've been through. Most of the time when music is not being made or released, God is shaping me behind the scenes as a man of God and to be able to make the music that He desires. Keeping everything in a schedule to be present for everyone and everything in my life is what helps me."..
What advice would you give up and coming independent artists?
"The main advice I would give is to be surrendered. In your surrender to God, that's how your music will impact others. A lot of people mistake talent for anointing. Most artists try to make bangers and hits, but when you make music to genuinely worship and glorify Him is how you impact souls for Christ."..
Do you plan to stay independent as an artist? What's the next move?
"I am planning on staying independent as an artist because I'm able to do everything. I make beats, write lyrics, rap, shoot my own content, edit my own videos, cover arts, etc. The next move is to invest more time and money to push forward what God has given me."..
What can we expect next from you?
"I'm dropping a single called "Come Down" on October 3rd. This song is just something else, I know God's gonna use it to pour into others as He's poured into me with it. I also have an album in the works on the way too."
