We love to discover new christian creatives and are so happy we had a chance to interview this artist. We asked SAINT RJ a few short questions about his faith & artistry. Here's what he had to say..
Every artist has a unique story. Can you tell us a little about yours?
"My story is a Rollercoaster of Events but I’m never afraid of vulnerability, I didn’t grow up in the Faith me and my family would go to Church once every blue moon because of my dad who was barely in my life. Sadly my dad was addicted to drugs which later on would take his life due to his addiction when I was 18 and growing up me my mom and my brother and sister moved around a lot growing up while even living in a Homeless shelter. I’m the youngest out of all my brothers (2) and sisters (4) a total of 6 siblings. But long story short I was exposed to a lot of things at a young age from smoking weed in the 3rd grade to explicit things at the age of 5."..
Please tell us about your art. What do you do / make / create? How? Why? What’s the message or inspiration, what do you hope people take away from it?
"I’m a Christian Rapper who strives to make my art with excellence to Reach not only the People in Church but the ones outside of Church as well. to Inspire all ages that they Are Welcomed in Gods family and God can use them no matter there past or current situation!"..
How or where can people see your work? How can people support your work?
"I’m out on ALL PLATFORMS from Apple Music, Spotify, Tidal and etc. How you can help me is if you feel like my music impacts you in some type of way Share my music with friends, family, and body. If you feel lead to purchase my song that helps too so I can invest back into the talent God has given me!"..
When and why did you start playing/making music?
"I started making music this year March of 2025 I had this desire to make Christian music back in 2021 but I wasn’t fully dedicated to God at that time and Since being fully surrendered he put that Desire back on my Heart and God been downloading a new song on my Heart ever since!."..
Tell us a little about your faith journey and how you came to give your life to Jesus?
"I find out I’m having my 1st daughter at 16 eventually I dropped out then at the time my daughters mom would go to Church with her family then I decided to tag along but since she was hispanic I didn’t understand anything they were saying but just randomly out loud I said maybe Ill find a Church of my own I think God saw that as a prayer. Next week getting my Wifi hooked up I’m outside with a cable guy and we’re just talking and he decides to share the Gospel with me and I accept Jesus into my life we exchange phone numbers and later on that day he invites me to Church but on my journey with God was up and down because I knew about the rules and not about relationship with Jesus and later on that Mentor that lead me to Christ moved to Utah to become a pastor and my faith went down hill. I was back to my old ways fully disconnected from Church and Christ I would have moments I would try to come back to Jesus but I tried out of my own strength and then still battling with weed and lust had got into a argument with my ex at the time and I just told myself I’m just going to seek God and while still smoking for 3 days straight I was just reading the word and on the 4th day I had felt the nudge of the Spirit telling me I have to be all in or out yet I was smoking the whole day and would not get even a buzz and I had a Half an ounce on me and was planning on finishing it that day with a friend and I told him its my last day I’m going to take my walk with God seriously so fast forward to Later that night Im watching the show Chosen 3rd episode I tell my friend hey its cool we will finish the rest of the weed tomorrow and he responds I thought you said you’re going to give your life to God and I never thought he would hold me accountable. So I tried to justify it and tell him you don't know what I promised God and while saying that when watching the show while Mary Jesus’s mother was telling Jesus to turn the water into wine she said these words “ IF NOT NOW THEN WHEN” and it struck me and those words was just in my head if I don't give this stuff up now then when and I just told God I’m done trying to do things my way and just Surrendered myself to him that day Nov 25, 2024"..
What jobs have you done other than being an artist?
"Worked at plenty of jobs from different warehouses to being a Amazon delivery driver"..
How do you balance your music with other obligations - significant other, children, job etc? Are you full time music?
"I always try to make time around everything I try to keep my schedule organized enough to be able to make music while being a Single dad, Working, also serving at my Church but more than anything I gotta have my quiet time with Jesus because I can’t push him to the back seat. Im not a full time Artist but if its in the Lords will for that to Happen then let his will be done!"..
What advice would you give up and coming independent artists?
"Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin. Zechariah 4:10 NLT Everybody starts from somewhere but you just have to start especially if it’s God who has called you to it he will provide in ways you never imagined!"..
Are you planning on staying independent as an artist? What's the next move?
"If the right opportunity presents itself I will know that decision to make but as for now I will be independent."..
What can we expect next from you?
"I just released my latest single BEN 10 OUT NOW ON ALL PLATFORMS!!! EXCLUSIVE MY next song is coming out November 5, 2025 LORD FIRST DROPPING ON ALL PLATFORMS, with plans of maybe dropping a EP by December so we Working just staying patient and enjoying the process"..
What's your writing process look like? Tell us more about how you create!
"I find the beat 1st see what fits or what stands out to me then once I find the beat I Pray and ask the Holy Spirit to speak through my lyrics then just let everything else flow I try not to overthink too and try to make trendy music because thats when I feel like Im not myself I stick to who God has made me because thats when I make my best art!."..
What inspired your new single "BEN 10" and what do you hope people take from it?
"I was at work just searching up beats then I came across Okaywarren beat and Holy spirit just started downloading lyrics into my head that 1st line came instantly “ TRANSFORM ON EM YEA I FEEL LIKE BEN 10” then everything just started to flow I finished that song in about 20 mins! I really hope people don't just hear my songs and just vibe even though I want them to but to really here the message and draw them closer to Jesus because streams is cool because my music is making it to people I pray God wants it to reach but i’d rather have a Million souls in the Kingdom than a Million streams"..
