NiniMarie Christian Artist Interview

We love to discover new christian creatives and are so happy we had a chance to interview this artist. We asked NiniMarie a few short questions about her artistry and what to expect next. Here's what she had to say..

Every artist has a unique story. Can you tell us a little about yours?

"Hello! my name is Nia, but my artist name is NiniMarie. I am a fellow creative which means I paint, I draw, I make music, I run a small art shop and I am the editor for all my content. It's a lot to juggle. I grew up as a military child with my two little sisters and my father and mother. My father still serves. Growing up was a little hard because we moved around a bit so it didn't make it easy to build true, trustworthy connections. We were raised by my mom and my dad was fortunately the provider of the family. I've lived in Italy, Japan, traveled to Germany, and Austria Hungary. I was blessed to have that opportunity in my teen age."..

Please tell us about your art. What do you do / make / create? How? Why? What’s the message or inspiration, what do you hope people take away from it?

"I am a christian artist and I create multiple genres but my top two are hip hop and pop. I have a producer I absolutely love working with from time to time but I also am the editor behind my own music. One thing that I want people to take from my music is that no matter what season you face, God is always there."..

How or where can people see your work? How can people support your work?

"People can find my music and/or music videos on YouTube, snippets on instagram, TikTok, and my music on Spotify, Apple Music, Soundcloud and more!"..

When and why did you start playing/making music?

"In 2022, I started making music because it was my outlet to express my emotions in ways I couldn't do by drawing. When I first started out it was secular. I started making music because a really traumatic relationship. Took a pause to find myself and then in 2024 I surrendered all my music to Christ and became a christian artist. It became a tool for me to use my gift to worship the Lord. My season of being in the desert is what led me to my music."..

Tell us a little about your faith journey and how you came to give your life to Jesus?

"I did not start becoming a serious believer of christ until I faced a really traumatic relationship that made me turn back to the kingdom. I had nobody but him a season of just pain and luckily my father was by my side to guide me through it. If it wasn't for my dad I wouldn't have been here and if it wasn't for my mom praying for me on the other side, my spirit would've been dead. The event that led me to Christ was an attempt on my life. I remember laying in the ER march of 2024, telling God to give me a way out of this relationship and a new start. I told the Lord I didn't want to die and that if he kept me alive I'd forever glorify his name. I had no gift at the moment to express my emotions and I paused on music for a good year. I heard the Lord in the midst of my prayer tell me to put it in a song and that's when my first song "Save Me" came to be. Although it was a personal worship song the Lord urged me to share it. This song talked about how I knew how much he valued me but I struggled to see it in myself because of everything I been through. When I put this song out it began to attract believers telling me I wasn't alone and encouraging me to keep going with my music. From April 20 of 2024 when my song dropped, I full on dedicated my music to him and became a christian artist. I took all my secular music down."..

What jobs have you done other than being an artist?

"I've been a preschool teacher for 6 years and am currently still one. Otherwise I own an art business that I am about to run again soon!"..

How do you balance your music with other obligations - significant other, children, job etc? Are you full time music?

"I work, I'm a mother of two, I'm a wife, a musician, and a bit of an entrepreneur. It's easy to balance music because it's worship to me. I do music part time typically when my little ones are sleep and there is no noise to distract me from the inspiration God places upon my heart. Everything else I do is during the day."..

What advice would you give up and coming independent artists?

"ALWAYS let the Holy Spirit have the first say in your music. Allow him to guide you in your lyrics, melodies of your voice and beats."..

Do you plan to stay independent as an artist? What's the next move?

"I am currently slowly building my team. I will remain an independent artist until the Lord places a trustworthy signing opportunity in my hands."...

What can we expect next from you?

"This coming year you can expect another album to drop called "Prayers", and tour dates for 2026. You can also expect updated photos and content for the new album I currently have out called "Purity"."..

What inspired your latest album "Purity"?

"My latest album "Purity" was inspired by the book of Isaiah. The first song is titled "Made Pure" and I wanted to capture that we are made pure in the eyes of Jesus Christ as long as we turn to him."..
