We love to discover new music and are so happy we stumbled across this gem. We asked Ryan Ofei a few short questions about his song "Abba". Here's what he had to say about it..
What inspired this song?
"My songs are about my faith and my journey, but they are still meant to be relatable. Sometimes we can have feelings of guilt, shame, and rejection from things we’ve done and what we’ve been through. It’s hard to feel accepted when you have had to overcome so many different challenges, but Abba signifies that our Heavenly Father loves us and wants us to come to him. Musically this song represents all my influences growing up in the Greater Toronto Area. It’s a vibe that reminds me of a high-school night growing up in the city and all the different cultures that the city embodies."..
What do you hope the listener takes away from the song?
"I hope the listener takes away the message of acceptance, identity, and hope. No matter what we’re going through or how we’re feeling. There’s someone who cares about you - Abba."..
What can we expect next from you?
"Celebrate EP is coming out on August 18th and it is my best body of work to date so I’m excited to share it with everyone who’s supporting my journey!"
